Vision Statement:
Reaching the family by improving the total man spiritually, financially, and economically through the word of God and the unity of the saints.
With great joy we relate the beginning of Higher Ground Deliverance Tabernacle, Inc. God, on the third Sunday in January 1994 called our Pastor to begin a new work known as "Higher Ground". God, through the Holy Ghost, spoke to our beloved Pastor and led him to begin services in Gilmore's Funeral Home in Lexington, North Carolina, and we later moved to a small building on South Main Street.
Our Pastor was blessed with a God-fearing wife, Evangelist Janice O. Heath and daughter Bethany. In the process of time Pastor Heath's mother, brother, sisters, nieces, and nephews came together and went forth to do the will of the Almighty God to assist the Man of God in ministry. Also, other courageous people of God, men, women, boys, and girls, who trusted the Man of God to make a miracle, move from one ministry to another that realizing "they that are led by the Spirit of God are the Sons of God'. Certainly the Spirit has spoken that this would be a new beginning and new work of God.
Then the Lord Spoke to our Pastor through Jeremiah 1 verses 4-5
"Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee,' and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."
From there we moved up to Higher Ground, a church designed to reach out to the total man to increase knowledge and wisdom through the power of the Almighty God.
Many members came and some decided that God would have them to work another vineyard. We love them and pray for them just the same and we bid them God's speed.
In November of 1994, God blessed us with a great sanctuary that during the months of November, December, and January we worked untiringly to make beautiful. It was Sunday, May 28, 1995-our Pastor's birthday celebration, when we marched "victoriously" in the new Higher Ground with many new laborers and a great shout went forth. This marked one of the happiest days of our Pastor and Founder's life, our Co- Pastor and members as well. We rejoiced because God had once again made a way and Higher Ground continues to climb higher and higher.
In January of 2004 the Higher Ground Ministry moved and located to 406 Northwest Blvd. Winston-Salem, NC, in order to be more effective in ministry to the community. In June of 2005 the Lord spoke to Bishop Heath and gave him a vision of reaching people of all nationalities and denominations and as a result of this vision Higher Ground began to grow: in numbers, in the anointing, and in the spirit, many pastors desire to apart of the move of God which was a result of this great vision, even to this day, therefore, our name changed to GREATER HIGHER GROUND MINISTRIES WORLD-WIDE, INC. We are praying that God will bless this ministry to purchase land to build God a house where he shall dwell and fill it with his glory.
